Havyard Steelcad AS is the agent for SENER in promotion of the FORAN CAD/CAM/CIM Systems in the following countries: NORWAY, SWEDEN, DENMARK, ESTONIA, LATVIA & LITHUANIA.
FORAN V60 CAD/CAM/CIM systems is a complete, highly integrated system specially developed for ship design and construction. It can be applied to the design of any type of vessel or construction and adapted to meet exactly the specific requirements of every shipyard, both in engineering and production.
A full-ship product model serves as the main information vehicle for ship design and production information. It contains associative (topological) and parametric relationship, 3D geometry, material definition, static and dynamic attributes, and manufacturing data. This model is created once and increases in fidelity as the design matures and progress from concept through detail.
The model is stored in a single database. The most recent design information is available for all the users so that genuine concurrent engineering and co-operative working are possible. On-line interference detection makes assembly of components error free and encourages pre-outfitting.
All modules are configured for UNIX, Open VMS and Windows 2000 & NT and runs on a great variety of hardware platforms.
FORAN V60 features an intuitive interface and requires only minimal training.
FORAN has modules covering the following activities:
- GENERAL DESIGN
Hullformdefinition (fairing of lines), Definition of framesystem and decks & bulkheads, Hydrostatic calculations, volume calculations, loading conditions, flooding conditions, launching conditions, hydrodynamics & seakeeping.
- HULL STRUCTURE
3D product model definition, shellplate development, profile sketches, nesting of plates, NC programs, drawings, material lists, weight & centre of gravity & reports etc.
- MACHINERY AND OUTFITTING
Definition of standards, creation of component catalogue, P&I diagrams, definition of equipment 3D models, arrangement of equipments, definition of piping layout (3D pipe modelling), creation of isometric drawings, reports etc.
- BUILD STRATEGY AND DRAFTING
To define the ship build strategy, i.e. the breakdown of each assembly into more detailed substructures, which are commonly known as interim products and to specify their fabrication process.
The operation of the module permits the definition of interim products in a fully 3D graphic environment, having the ship model as reference.Each interim product is associated to a complete set of attributes. One of the most important is the welding path, that can be automatically generated.
Drawings of interim products are easily obtained from the Data Base.
- ELECTRIC DESIGN
The Electrical Design modules are fully integrated with the rest of the system, have as their main objective the design and production of electric distributed systems. An online clash detection is available when routing cable trays.
- ACCOMODATION DESIGN
Complete integrated with other FORAN applications.
